Altera Selects PhaseLink Clock ICs for Audio-Video Development Kit
September 5, 2007
PhaseLink Corporation, USA, today announced Altera's use of eight PhaseLink clocks on their Audio-Video Reference Design targeting the broadcast audio/video equipment market.
Altera chose PhaseLink's clocks as cost-effective solutions for meeting the demanding timing requirements of their reference design. Altera's audio/video reference design enables designers to create and design next-generation studio and broadcast applications for serial digital interface (SDI), asynchronous serial interface (ASI), digital video interface (DVI), and various audio interfaces.
Unlike conventional PLLs, the PL580 serial digital interface clock (VCXO) series features extremely low phase jitter of 0.4ps RMS (typ.) and less than 25ps (typ.) peak to peak jitter for all supported frequencies thus ideally suited for most stringent communications requirements. The PL580 series is designed to address the demanding requirements of high performance applications such as SONET, GPS, Video, etc. PhaseLink's extensive portfolio of mixed signal products are packaged in Green/RoHS packages and are available in Japan through Silicon Technology.
