SEQUANS NEWS UPDATES
The first and only WiMAX Forum Certified™ ASIC-based reference design for Mobile WiMAX base stations.
Sequans offers femtocell reference design in several frequenciesNow that the SQN2130-RD reference design is being widely used for pico base station designs, Sequans is now shipping a femtocell reference design based on Sequans' SQN2131 base station ASIC. The SNQ2131 ASIC is a dedicated base station ASIC, offering 2TX/2RX and both PHY and MAC layers. It is optimized for 15 simultaneous users. The SNQ2131-RD femtocell design is now available for 2.5 and 3.5 GHz and it supports the same software release used to obtain the CRSL 1.9 Certification tag. The SQN2131-RD femtocell design is flexible and can integrate with multiple RFIC solutions.
Scratel chooses SequansScartel has chosen Sequans' Mobile WiMAX technology for its recently announced network deployment in Russia. The company launched last year when it gained 2.5 GHz spectrum licenses across Russia and it has already installed 150 Mobile WiMAX base stations in Moscow, 80 in St. Petersburg and expects to have hundreds more installed by the end of the year. The Scartel Mobile WiMAX network, operating under service name Yota, will be the largest network in Russia and one of the largest in the world. Scartel is offering several end user devices based on Sequans chips, including the much-publicized HTC T8290 smartphone, the world's first GSM/WiMAX phone that has recently been introduced to the market with great success.
